Meditation series: Zen

This ‘seated’ meditation form is most commonly known as Zen meditation.

This is suppose to give you insight by focusing on the present moment.

Method: Seated in a straight spine, chin slightly tuck with a soft open downward gaze. Focus your awareness on the breathe and notice at the belly vs nose. Observe and let go of the thoughts and experiences — you’ll feel a stringent attention on the straight spine, tucked chin and hands if they are places in a position over your belly.

In Zen Meditation, eyes are always instructed to be open with downward gaze.

Benefits: reduce anxiety and depression. Helps in uncovering truths and insights to the mind
